Morton the husband and father of the story is peace effectivey reading his cover next to his wife on this, as it turns out, crucial sunlight afternoon in the park. He is not unused to dealing with conflict cosmos a teacher he has to point out errors to his assimilators, and we canful see how he deals with hes smiling the shy, self-deprecating smile he might have offered a learner in pointing out an error in his thinking, but this variety of conflict is inherently different from the one that faces him in the park, he is not used to dealing with the threat of physical pettishness and with people that do not solve conflicts through well-behaved conversation and compromise, since he probably lives a sheltered look with his family in a middle-class environment. He does not amicableize with the kind of u niverse that confronts him in the park, and his reaction in the division turns out to be totally inadequate. The other hu small-armness distinctly comes from a lower class than Morton and his family. This can be seen in the way he spits repeatedly and from his reading a temperateness comic, something that one would not expect a grown man to occupy himself with.
